Survey Results 2009-10
The Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) conducted the 2009-10 Survey of Los Altos School District parents in January 2009. Over 1,000 parents responded from every grade(K-8) and every school in the district. Thanks to those of you who gave us your feedback!
The majority of parents were Satisfied/Very Satisfied parents with LAEF-funded programs:
- K-3 Class Size Reduction - 69%
- Science Aides - 70%
- PE Specialists - 71%
- Art Docent Program - 72%
- FAB - overall 73%
- Jr High Class Size Reduction - 77-80%
Here are some highlights from the survey:
- 84% of parents surveyed feel LAEF programs are a good/very good value for their donation.
- Parents surveyed have indicated if LAEF could fund more programs, class size is their highest priority, followed by Science.
- Survey comments suggest that parents are concerned about class sizes, especially in kindergarten and 1st grade, but realize the increases are due to state budget cuts.
- 88% of parents surveyed report that the quality of the schools in the Los Altos School District was influential/very influential in their decision to move to Los Altos.
- 77% of parents surveyed feel LAEF does a good/very good job partnering with Los Altos School District to fund enrichment programs valued by LASD families.
